About Role
This Domestic Tax Analysis Group, State & Local Tax Analyst position is responsible for processes necessary to ensure GM’s compliance with state and local income tax compliance requirements and compilation of the quarterly U.S. income state tax provision. This person will have responsibility for assisting in the administering SOX compliance with respect to key financial accounting processes and the financial reporting of taxes.

Job Responsibilities
A- Operating Sarbanes Oxley 404 tax controls and supporting related testing.
B- Ensuring timely and accurate filing of state and local income tax returns and extension filings.
C- Partnering with business units and other departments within Corporate Finance to ensure the accuracy of tax returns and financial statement balances.
D- Providing support in the review and analysis of proposed and existing state tax laws and regulations.
Job Requirements
A- 2+ years of relevant large public accounting firm or private industry experience in state and local income tax reporting.
B- The ability to prioritize assignments and manage workload within statutory and internal deadlines.
C– Demonstrated effective, analytical and problem-solving skills.
D- Master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting; other advanced degree or training.
